Dr Helen Peric understands that seeking fertility treatment can be an emotional and stressful time of life and believes her role is to guide her patients through this process in a caring way.
From the very first consultation, Helen takes the time to get to know the couple and their unique situation in an empathetic and understanding manner.
Being a Fertility Specialist is very rewarding for Helen, especially when she gives a couple the good news that they are going to have the baby they have always wanted.
Helen achieved a first class honours degree in Science at The University of Melbourne, which led to her working in the field of medical research. Her desire to have a greater clinical involvement led Helen to study medicine at The University of Sydney. After she completed Medicine, Helen undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Westmead Hospital and later at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.
It was during her time training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology that Helen developed an interest in infertility and reproductive medicine and so she went on to complete sub-specialty training in these areas at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Genea.
Helen has also achieved a Master of Human Reproduction and Human Genetics and as a part of those studies completed a research project which investigated the role of MTHFR polymorphism on recurrent miscarriage.
Helen’s practice focuses on female and male infertility, IVF, patients requiring pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), recurrent miscarriage and gynaecology with special interest in polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopause.
