With first hand experience of infertility and treatment at Genea, Dr Peta Skilbeck truly understands the emotions and stresses involved in the situation and she focuses on an empathetic approach to make the journey as easy as possible for her patients. During consultations, Peta believes an honest discussion is essential and she takes the time to ensure her patients are able to comfortably make informed decisions.
Peta is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She graduated from Sydney University with her Bachelor of Medical Science in 1999 and then completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2003.
Peta worked as a basic training Registrar at The John Hunter Hospital between 2005 and 2012, and then a Senior Registrar and Provisional Fellow at Gosford Hospital from 2013 to 2015, including secondments to Maitland and Belmont Hospitals. In 2016, Peta was recognised as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and she is currently a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Gosford Private Hospital.
Peta joined the Genea team in April 2016. She is married with two children and loves spending time with her family, travelling, reading and cooking - when she can fit it in.
